Long before Marvel Studios confirmed that they are working on a Fantastic Four reboot, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have made it very clear that they want to see the husband and wife tandem of John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as Reed Richards and Sue Storm. Most people are well aware that we came close to seeing both actors in the billion-dollar franchise but the timing and other circumstances played major factors in their MCU involvement being halted.

Blunt has iterated in numerous interviews the past year alone that the superhero genre just doesn't appeal to her while Krasinski has remained vocal about his desire to become part of the Marvel franchise. Now, rumor has it that the star of The Office is finally getting his long-awaited MCU project and will indeed portray Mister Fantastic in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

However, it looks like not everyone is thrilled with the idea of the 42-year-old leading Marvel's first family and while a lot of fans are still genuinely thrilled about the possibility, some people may have outgrown the idea of him as Reed Richards. There's no doubt that Krasinski sounds like the perfect fit to play Mister Fantastic in live-action and there's a reason why Marvel fans have been campaigning for him all these years. Assuming he's in Multiverse of Madness, it would be safe to say that he's just playing a variant of the character and the chances of him actually crossing over to the main universe might be slim. With Marvel Studios launching its Fantastic Four franchise, the most logical move is to start fresh and do another origin story instead of presenting them as already established heroes. But I guess we'll see.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.
