MCU Faces Major Issues as Coronavirus Continues to Spread

The spread of the novel coronavirus has done a major hit on the entertainment industry. The pandemic has forced the shutdown of major events like SXSW and the Emerald City Comic Con. Not only has it forced studio's to close the production of upcoming projects like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, but it's also forced studios to delay the release of highly anticipated films like Mulan, The New Mutants, No Time to Die, and of course Black Widow.

With so many movies seeing delay, Marvel fans can only wonder what odds the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to face in this kind of environment.

Business Insider thinks that things aren't going to be easy for Marvel. The studio has always had a release calendar for its upcoming movies and television projects. However, we can't be entirely sure when the government will be able to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. We can't be sure when things are going to go back to normal. How soon will Marvel be able to continue the development of its Phase 4 projects?

That's not the only concern, of course. With studios pushing back the release of upcoming films left and right, studios will find themselves fighting for calendar release space in fall and in winter. Perhaps they'll have to duke it out until 2021.

Now's definitely a difficult time for Marvel. We can only hope that the spread of the novel coronavirus ends so that everything returns to what it once was.
