Is There a McDonald's Adult Happy Meal Age Limit? How Can You Get One?
Good news! There is no age limit on purchasing a McDonald's Adult Happy Meal. This means you can enjoy your a Happy Meal and toy without any judgy stares from across the restaurant.
McDonald's trialled something similar last year, with the Cactus Plant Flea Market box. According to chief marketing and customer experience officer, Tariq Hassan, the intent was to "unlock the childlike joy of opening a Happy Meal box for fans of all ages." It seems like it worked.
The Cactus Plant Flea Market Box was a collaboration between McDonald's and the fashion/lifestyle brand and included a four-eyed Grimace toy. Currently, these toys are selling for around $30,000 on eBay.
Because of the demand for an adult Happy Meal, the fast food giant decided to bring back the experience in 2023.
What's Inside an Adult Happy Meal From McDonald's?
Starting December 11, McDonald's is giving away one of six toys that you can prop up on your desk.
Unlike the Cactus Plant Flea Market box, McDonald's new adult Happy Meal is called The Kerwin Frost Box. This is a new collaboration between McDonald's and DJ, designer, and streetwear icon Kerwin Frost.
If you are interested in ordering an Adult Happy Meal, you can pair your toy with a snack: you can choose between a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets box or a Big Mac, plus a soda of your choice.
Each Adult Happy Meal box has been decorated with one of the six McNugget Buddy toys. Frost has also included a Kerwin Frost McNugget Buddy box that bears the artist's trademark pencil tattoo.
Speaking about the collaboration, Frost shared:
“I’ve loved McDonald’s since I was a kid. I even had my own Ronald McDonald doll that I brought to picture day at school, and it was my dream to collect all the McNugget Buddies. Now, coming up with my own special set of Buddies — each one representing different aspects of self-expression — it’s unreal, a dream come true.”
Although there is no McDonald's Adult Happy Meal age limit, the Kerwin Frost Box will only be available in select McDonald's locations. You can also get some of Frost's McNugget Buddies-themed merch via his website. A part of the proceeds from every sale will be donated to the Harlem Arts Alliance.
