Matt Reeves' Solo Batman Film is No Longer Titled 'The Batman'

For months we've been calling Matt Reeves' solo Batman movie The Batman but it looks like WB has decided to keep the project untitled until further notice.

This comes from SuperBroMovies Daniel Richtman who reveals:

Originally, The Batman was going to be directed and written by Ben Affleck, but he handed over those duties to Reeves shortly after the criticism came out for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. For now, we don't know if Affleck is ever going to return as the Caped Crusader as it's being rumored that this movie will be a prequel of sorts with a younger actor being cast as Batman.

Personally, I would prefer for the universe to just push the story forward. As it stands, the latest update we got in the timeline was Aquaman with Shazam! also expected to take place in real time. Joker is going to be set in its own alternate universe apart from the DCEU and Wonder Woman 1984 is another period piece. I just kind of want the DCEU to put Justice League behind and move forward.

We don't have any official updates on this Batman movie yet, but it's rumored that film will begin shooting later this year. Rumor also has it that the Penguin is going to be an antagonist with one unnamed villain, but until we get any official announcements from Reeves or WB, we'll just have to stick with rumors.

The Batman has no official release date.
