Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Game Will Have Mature Tone According to Director

It was recently announced that Insomniac Games, the developer behind Marvel's Spider-Man, is currently working on Marvel's Wolverine for PlayStation 5 which will center on the titular mutant. Fans have been wondering about the tone of the game and now they finally have their answer.

Brian Horton, the creative director at Insomniac Games, has confirmed in his tweet that the game will have a "mature tone." This comes after he responded to a fan question where he was asked if the game will be "big" or similar to the size of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Besides confirming the mature tone of the upcoming game, he also indicated that it will be in "full size."

The confirmation delighted fans as a lot of them were hoping for the game to have a more mature tone than Marvel's Spider-Man. Having the game in "full size" also means that it will have a long duration with an in-depth storyline and, hopefully, engaging gameplay. After all, Wolverine is known for his darker stories in the comics and having a mature tone for the game is definitely suitable for a character like him. This is also definitely going to be a departure from Marvel's Spider-Man which was intended for the general audience. But whether the tone will be mature or not, what's important is the story will be great and they deliver a satisfying game about one of Marvel's most popular heroes.

Marvel's Wolverine is set to be a PS5 exclusive game alongside Marvel's Spider-Man 2 which is also in the works from Insomniac Games. There's no firm release date yet, but it is likely that it will be available as early as 2023. Ryan Schneider, the head of franchise strategy and studio relations at Insomniac Games, noted in his blog that the game is still "very early in development."
