Marvel’s Star Wars Comic Explains A Han Solo Plot Hole From Empire Strikes Back

The Star Wars franchise might be the biggest and most popular science fiction franchise in Hollywood History, but that doesn't mean that Star Wars films are all perfect.

Even the original Star Wars movies have their plot holes that fans have noticed over the years. One of the biggest inconsistencies in the Star Wars original trilogy that fans have debated over was the decrepit state of the Millennium Falcon in The Empire Strikes Back. Many distinctly remember that three years earlier during the end of A New Hope, Han Solo's YT freighter was in perfect condition – clean, spruced and ready to destroy the Death Star together with the Rebellion.

There's been a lot of speculation as to what could have happened in the three-year gap to bang the Millennium Falcon up over the years, but now, it looks like we finally have a legitimate answer to the debacle thanks to Marvel's Star Wars #53.

The new issue of Marvel's Star Wars comic book series (via CBR) shows how the Falcon gets damaged because of an assault on the Rebel Alliance in the planet of Mako-Ta where the Queen Trios betrays the rebels and has them trapped by Vader's Blockade.

Check out the damage Vader does on the Falcon in the comic book image down below:

The Falcon definitely looks exceptionally damaged in the picture. Vader was probably driven by anger and revenge when he decided to go and take a second round of blasts against Han, the man who had helped destroy the Death Star in A New Hope.

The freighter definitely looks pretty banged up here, but at least Star Wars #53 tells us that Han really stuck around to help the Rebellion.
