According to a new report by Deadline, The CW has just announced that it has started developing a new Nancy Drew project together with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage Marvel's Runaways producers also known for Gossip Girl and The OC.

The still-untitled series which has The Magicians' Noga Landau as its writer focuses on an 18-year-old version of the sleuth who's in the cusp of the very beginning of college in the summer after her high school graduation. Nancy is more than excited to leave her hometown to begin college elsewhere, but tragedy befalls her family and the young sleuth is forced to stay for another year. Now, Nancy finds herself tangled in what is described as a "ghostly murder investigation" which unveils secrets that "run deeper than she ever imagined."

This new Nancy Drew television series is definitely exciting. The books series which was written by various authors under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene became part of popular Young Adult literature, and Nancy Drew herself has become a cultural icon.
