Marvel's Phase 4 Hero Became the Biggest Villain in the Comics Before Making Movie Debut


Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 4 big hero, Shang-Chi, will be in a new comic series that will put him against the other heroes of the Marvel Universe. Marvel revealed that Shang-Chi will fight against fellow allies in the Shang-Chi #1 comics. This means that we may see him fight against Spider-Man, X-men, Avengers, and even more.

Shang-Chi was first seen in the Marvel Comics in Special Marvel Edition #15 and was created by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin. The Master of Kung Fu and master martial artist, while he can be completely in tune with his Chi. Along with the other fighters within the Marvel Universe, Shang-Chi is an ally to the Avengers. He is also an important member of the Agent of Atlas and was important in fighting the Five Weapon Society.


The character will star within the MCU Phase 4 films, in the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring Simu Liu, playing the titular role. He is the hero fighting against The Mandarin, which is played by Tony Leung and the Ten Rings organization.

The image can be a grizzly one, showing Shang-Chi stand over a number of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The image showed a defeated Thor, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man. Marvel's promo for the series says that when his fellow heroes start to question his motives with the Five Weapons Society, his "newfound family" will come to fight against the most important heroes within the Marvel Universe.

Yang said in an interview that he's excited to continue Shang-Chi's journey wherein it will have him face both "old friends and new foes... and even old friends who become new foes."

Shang-Chi could be trying to try to do the right thing by turning the Five Weapons Society into a force of good inside the Marvel Universe, but it's clear that convincing his fellow heroes that the evil organization would suddenly change sides will not be done in a simple conversation, which can lead to many actions between the master martial artist versus his former allies.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released on July 9, 2021.
