Marvel Television Co-Head Leaves the Company

Though not as recognized as the MCU, Marvel's television presence has been impressive as of late. While Inhumans was a failure, shows like The Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, and even the previously controversial Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have been quality programs as of late. Not to mention the consistent, if somewhat slow-paced, output of Netflix shows like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

With all that, it's easy to see why there haven't been any new shows announced recently. This is why it's surprising to know that Marvel Television co-head Jim Chory has left the company.

According to Deadline, the decision was Chory's and he felt that it was a good time to leave the company since no new shows have been greenlit recently. This leaves Jeph Loeb as the head of Marvel Television unless the company appoints a new co-head with Loeb. It's an interesting change that's for sure.

Chory might not be as well-known to comic book fans as Jeph Loeb, since the latter wrote a number of comic stories like Batman: Hush and Nova, but he still left an impact. Aside from being nominated for a few Emmy Awards, Chory has also co-produced all of the Marvel tv shows.

Expect more news about this soon. At least it wasn't a controversial removal.
