Marvel Studios Reportedly Recasting Another Defenders Actor

Marvel Studios has always been about fan service which is why they brought back some of the actors from Netflix's Marvel shows. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio have already begun their MCU journey in Phase Four and fans are expecting their co-stars from the red and black streaming platform to follow suit. However, it looks like not everyone from the Defenders universe will be given the Earth-616 pass.

Bafflingly enough, a fan-favorite actor is reportedly not crossing over to the MCU. According to a scoop from Giant Freakin Robot, Luke Cage actor Mike Colter is "almost certainly" not going to be a part of the billion-dollar franchise. Per the outlet's source, Kevin Feige is allegedly not interested in casting the actor despite his popularity.

Previously, it was also rumored that Finn Jones won't be joining Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter in the MCU and as it stands, plans call for a new Iron Fist actor to get cast.

Of course, since nothing has been officially confirmed yet, it's always best to take these rumors with a huge grain of salt. Personally, I don't believe it because Colter has generated his own following as Luke Cage and it would be criminal on the studio's part to not give him a shot at playing the character in the MCU.

As for Jones, the poor reception of his Iron Fist series is probably the reason why Feige lost interest in him but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how they'll handle the Defenders.

Charlie Cox will return as the Man Without Fear in Daredevil: Born Again which is expected to release in Spring 2024
