Cavill is a hot commodity in Hollywood today for taking part in various blockbuster flicks. It is no wonder that various studio films would like to poach the actor and get him over to their side.
However, some rumors suggest that another major franchise is on the lookout for Cavill. It is not entirely clear if Cavill's tenure in DC has ended or if he will be back wearing the red cape soon. Its biggest rival, Marvel is reportedly keeping an eye on the actor.
Tipster Mikey Sutton reported that Cavill's busy schedule has reduced the possibility of him returning to the DCEU. He has ongoing commitments with The Witcher. He has also a partnership with Netflix where he will reprise Sherlock in a sequel to Enola Holmes. Aside from his Netflix commitments, the tipster also noted that Marvel is monitoring the actor to be potentially recruited into the MCU soon.
According to Mikey Sutton, Warner Brothers need to act soon if they want to keep Cavill as Marvel Studios is watching him. Although this might be a rumor, this is not the first time it has been speculated that Marvel wants to have Cavill on board the MCU.
What may have been keeping Marvel at bay could be The Rock. Black Adam Dwayne Johnson is reportedly interested in having Cavill play the red-caped hero and face him. In fact, The Rock wants the whole Justice League cast by Zack Snyder to be back, fueling rumors that he wanted to support the Snyderverse. Whether Cavill is still onboard the DCEU or not is still up in the air.
Rumors have begun ever since it has been circulating that he might leave the DCEU in 2018. The character that is rumored for Cavill is Captain Britain or Hercules.
