Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige On Stan Lee’s Legacy And Influence

It's been more than a month since Stan Lee's sudden passing, and Marvel is still reeling from the loss of its comic book legend and cameo king.

Kevin Feige recently sat down in an interview with Variety on its Playback podcast and during the visit, the Marvel Studios President decided to discuss Lee's legacy and influence. According to Feige, despite Lee's health conditions in 2018, he never really expected the day when the comic book writer, publisher, and editor would no longer be able to join his fans in conventions and events. Feige had always hoped that Lee would live as long as Kirk Douglas, and while the cameo king is gone, the Marvel Studios executive says his "influence will never go away."

"I was there not for every one but almost every cameo he's ever shot going back to ‘X-Men.' He was very special. I've never heard one story of somebody meeting Stan and not being overwhelmed with excitement. He never disappointed," Feige told the news outlet during the interview. "In some ways, I never thought this day would come. Kirk Douglas just turned 102. I thought Stan was going to be there. And in the same way, it doesn't seem like he's gone. His influence will never go away."

Right now, fans are wondering what kind of cameos Lee has left for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, it's been mentioned in the past that Marvel has a few pre-recorded cameos of the comic book legend. We're pretty sure that Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home are all going to get a cameo from Lee. However, we're not quite sure what kind of appearance the cameo king might have in the films that come after Far From Home.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to premiere April 26, 2019.
