Marvel Producer Addresses The Illuminati's MCU Future After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness offered a more comprehensive experience of the MCU's multiversal adversaries, and how they would be significant to the future of the mega-franchise. After introducing the fans to a whole new concept of parallel universes where different variants of characters exist, it also paves the way for the Illuminati's exhilarating debut.

However, Multiverse of Madness didn't really give a monumental debut for the group of heroes. Instead, they were totally butchered by Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch like a bunch of weaklings. Despite the tragic fate the Illuminati encountered in the film, can we still see them again in the future of the MCU?

In the newly-dropped Marvel Studios Assembled documentary of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, co-producer Richie Palmer weighs in on the Illuminati's MCU future. According to him, the group's inclusion opens the door for a different incarnation that will be seen in the future.

“The Illuminati’s been a group we’ve wanted to introduce in our movies for years," Palmer said. "They’re a secret organization that works off the grid. They do the things that the other groups like the Avengers wouldn’t be too happy about… To do it in an alternate universe in the Multiverse, was a really exciting thing because we get to meet a version of this group in this other universe, and then we still might get to see an Illuminati of our main MCU one day, which is also very exciting.”

First of all, after being brutally slaughtered by the Scarlet Witch, the Illuminati certainly has to come back and redeem themselves. Although it was obvious that their inclusion in the Multiverse of Madness was mainly to gather more anticipation, their parallel version in the main MCU timeline must clearly demonstrate how powerful they really are.

Let's admit it, we've been waiting for John Krasinski's debut as Mister Fantastic for the longest time. Sadly, moments after his debut, the Scarlet Witch easily turned him into spaghetti, making the character appear like a wimp.

Thankfully, according to Palmer's statement, it looks like will see more of the Illuminati in the future and it would be in the main MCU timeline Hopefully, they won't get killed easily this time around.
