Marvel President Kevin Feige Debunks Rumors That He’s Replacing Lucasfilm Head Kathleen Kennedy

There's been a lot of talk about Kathleen Kennedy potentially stepping down as Lucasfilm's president after Solo: A Star Wars bombed at the box office.

The poor performance of the film and the divisiveness of Star Wars: The Last Jedi has gotten fans talking about a change in leadership over at Lucasfilm Some of the most recent rumors about Kennedy circulating around the internet is that the Lucasfilm president was going to give her seat to Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, a report which was later on refuted by Lucasfilm. However, the rumors continued to persist with some even going as far as to claim that Feige had been seen spending some time at the offices in Lucasfilm at Burbank.

Now it looks like Feige himself has debunked the rumors. Speaking in an interview with Slash Film to help promote Marvel's final film of the year, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Feige was asked about the rumors saying that he was going to replace Kennedy as President of Lucasfilm.

This is what Feige said in response:

"No. Only in my backyard with my action figures."

It's a quick denial – one that might hopefully put all the rumors to rest. Sure Feige might be a big Star Wars fan, but the Marvel executive already has a lot on his plate over at Marvel Studios. It sounds pretty improbable that Feige would have time to manage both the Star Wars and Marvel franchises at the same time.

Ant-Man and the Wasp premieres on July 6.
