Marvel Might Retain James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Soundtrack

We all have certain concerns about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After all, the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel has been put on indefinite hold following the firing of James Gunn earlier this year. Although Marvel and Disney are currently on the hunt for a new director, there is one question on most fans' minds: will the Vol. 3 soundtrack be a lot different from the previous films?

It's no secret that music has played a large role in Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy films. The filmmaker has previously revealed that he actually plays the songs on the set while filming. Although it is still unclear if the new director will do the same with Vol. 3, ComicBook.com has pointed out that Gunn's songs will be used in the sequel as long as Marvel uses his script.

Gunn has previously admitted that he has already chosen the songs that will be used in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and may have included them in his screenplay. If the studios decide to keep Gunn's script for the sequel, there is a huge possibility that his musical influence will be evident in Vol. 3.

But is it possible that Marvel and Disney will hire a director with a similar taste in music? Fans have noticed that Taika Waititi's soundtrack for Thor: Ragnarok had the same nostalgic energy as the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films. In addition to that, Waikiki has been reported to be meeting with the studios on a new MCU project. Although nothing has been confirmed just yet, people are really hoping that the New Zealand filmmaker will be chosen to take over for Gunn.
