By no means was Iron Man 3 a horrible film but it sure has a lot of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans divided. The 2013 superhero flick had a lot of controversial moments and creative decisions that ultimately didn't contribute to shaping up the franchise's future. For starters, it had a confusing origin story for the Mandarin, arguably one of Iron Man's biggest foes who was first introduced as a devious leader of a terrorist group and later "revealed" to be Aldrich Killian during the climactic moments of the film.

Another one of Iron Man 3's "controversial" characters was Harley Keener, a young genius from Tennesee who looks after Tony Stark's damaged Mark 42 Iron Man suit. The character would later resurface as a teenager in Avengers: Endgame and was present at Stark's funeral. Now, Harley's MCU future still remains unclear but apparently, Marvel Comics is turning the divisive character canon into their comics universe.

Keener made his official comics debut in WEB of Spider-Man #1 as part of Stark's academy for gifted youngsters. Kinda like Professor X's Mutant school but for budding geniuses like Iron Man himself. The said comic doesn't put much emphasis on Harley but he's described as a "friend of Tony Stark", remaining faithful to his Iron Man 3 arc.

Going back to Harley's MCU fate, while nothing has been confirmed yet, there's a good chance that the character will be featured on the upcoming Armor Wars series led by Don Cheadle or even the standalone Ironheart show. I'm assuming that following Stark's death, Keener will become a main fixture in the franchise and could even become a potential successor to the Iron Man armor. Who knows?

Meanwhile, Armor Wars' release date has yet to be announced.
