Marvel Is Going To Continue Exploring Other Genres In The MCU

It's been ten years since the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and one of the main reasons behind the cinematic universe's longevity is the diversity of the film genres in its many franchises. Marvel doesn't just make comic book movies, it makes cosmic superhero romps, superhero drama, action, comedy – you name it.

Now, as Marvel begins drawing the curtain behind Phase 3 of the MC, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says the MCU will continue to enjoy the diversity of film genre as it moves forward.

Speaking together with ComicBook.com during a press event for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Feige went on exploring the idea of introducing new characters to the MCU like Ghost Rider and Two-Gun Kid. Though the films might ask for a more Western Tone of Marvel, Feige says that the studio won't back down.

"I'm interested in all of them," Feige said. "I love film. I love film, I love all different film genres. I saw Hereditary, I'm still rattled by that one. You seen Hereditary? It's amazing but it sticks with ya."

OF course, Marvel seems to be already building a diverse portfolio of movies even as fans continue to wait for Avengers: Infinity War. It isn't a surprise to hear Feige thinking of exploring other genres in the franchise – that's how the studio's kept alive. We can't wait to see what Feige has in store for us in Phase 4 and in the Marvel Cosmic Universe. Let's wait and see.

Ant-Man and the Wasp premieres July 6.
