Marvel Fans Want Monica Rambeau To Replace Carol Danvers In Captain Marvel 2

Marvel just recently announced the development of Captain Marvel 2 this week, and while most Marvel fans are eager to see Brie Larson return to the big screen as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's strongest Avenger, some are hoping that Monica Rambeau takes Carol Danvers' place in the Captain Marvel sequel.

It's been a while since the events of Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline, and fans are sure that by the time Captain Marvel 2 comes around, Monica will be old enough to take on Carol Danver's mantle.

Some are eager to see Monica take Carols place in the MCU – Captain Marvel might have been a major success at the box office, however, the film was met with much controversy before and after its premiere.

While most of fans contention with Carol Danvers came from Brie Larson's abrasive responses to seemingly harmless questions during interviews, others didn't quite enjoy the movie, saying that Captain Marvel was overpowered and that the film had few emotional draws. Sure, critics might have deemed the film as a decent origin story, however, many found it lacking as the very first female-centered feature of the MCU.

Of course, as frustrated fans are with Larson's iteration of Captain Marvel, it seems unlikely that Marvel is going to get rid of the actress entirely. Carol Danvers will most certainly return in Captain Marvel 2, though it's possible that the hero pass on the baton to Monica Rambeau at the end of the film. Let's wait and see.

Captain Marvel 2 has yet to receive a release date, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
