Marvel Fans Start Petition Asking For The Return Of Iron Fist Series

Last Saturday, Netflix surprised Marvel TV fans when it announced that it had decided to pull the plug on Finn Jones' Iron Fist series.

Sure, the show centered around the Immortal Iron Fist might have had the lowest ratings among Marvel TV's many Netflix series when it got its first season, but the series improved as it continued with its second batch of episodes on the streaming site.

The news definitely came as a shock to fans, and it looks like some have already started putting up petitions to ask Netflix to bring the series back. A new petition for Iron Fist has just been spotted on Change.org and it looks like it's already managed to rake in more than 10,000 signatures out of its initial 15,000 goal.

Here's the official message that was written down on the fan petition:

"Netflix has made a terrible decision in canceling Iron Fist after 2 seasons. There are many fans of the character and the series and most people said that the second season was excellent. I think it's unfair that Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil get a third season and their shows get mixed reviews too yet Iron Fist gets the shaft. There is so much more potential and stories to be told and it's not great fan service to end the last season on a cliffhanger and not go along with it especially when the second season was better received with critics and fans. So Netflix and Marvel please revise your decision and greenlight a third season for Iron Fist."

There was certainly a lot of disappointment when Netflix made the announcement over the weekend. The Iron Fist cast hadn't even known about the cancellation until Netflix sent out a post online, and the team didn't take the news too well. Fans didn't take the news too well either. Iron Fist's second season ended with some exciting cliffhangers, christening Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) as the new Iron Fist while leaving Danny Rand traveling around with the ability to bring out his chi through a pair of pistols.

Thankfully, while Iron Fist has been officially cut off by Netflix, the site plans to have Danny Rand continue appearing in its other Marvel Netflix series including Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.
