Marvel fans aren't happy. Before today, many assumed that Black Panther's (Chadwick Boseman) genius sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), survived Thanos' (Josh Brolin) Snappening in Avengers: Infinity War. Turns out that the fan-favorite Black Panther character had been dusted too.
Earlier today, Marvel Studios released 32 new character posters to help promote Avengers: Endgame. The posters came in two different styles – full colored images for characters that survived the Decimation, and then black and white images for those that ended up as victims at the hands of the Mad Titan. Shuri was one of those heroes who came in the black and white posters.
The revelation came as quite a surprise to Marvel fans. The character had not been in the final scenes of Infinity War, and many assumed that the Wakandan genius had been alive and well. Marvel wouldn't leave Wakanda without a royal to guide the country, would it? Turns out that the country has been made to do without Black Panther and his sister.
Now, fans are trying processing Shuri's death, breaking their hearts over the news.

Shuri's death wasn't the only revelation today. The posters also revealed Valkyrie's (Tessa Thompson) survival in Infinity War and her possible participation in Endgame. Sure, fans might have always suspected that Valkyrie survived the film, but the character had never appeared in Infinity War, so it was hard to tell. Now fans finally have a concrete confirmation.
Avengers: Endgame is set to premiere April 26.
