Marvel Fans Discover Russian Connection Between Stranger Things And Black Widow

Netflix just recently released a brand new trailer for the fourth season of Stranger Things and the streaming site got straight to the point by showing Jim Hopper (David Harbour) alive and well in the frigid desolation of what seems to be Siberia.

While Netflix's science fiction-horror web television series has very little to do with Marvel's upcoming Black Widow comic book movie, Marvel fans have managed to connect Stranger Things with Scarlett Johansson's very first standalone movie as Natasha Romanoff.

Posting on Twitter, entertainment news outlet Fandom suggests a likely story of how Police Chief Jim Hopper finds himself transported to Russia only to find himself a new job as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Red Guardian.

Fans couldn't help but agree with Fandom, saying that it was also the first thing they thought of when they got to see Jim Hopper again in the trailer for Stranger Things Season 4. There's been a lot of love for David Harbour the past few years. Stranger Things fell in love with Harbour and his character, Jim Hopper, the gruff Chief of Police of Hawkins Indiana who's struggling to be a father to Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven. Marvel fans fell in love with the actor the moment they got to see him cackle as the Red Guardian in the trailer for Black Widow.

Sure, Black Widow's promotional videos might not give fans that much to go on, but Red Guardian seems lovable enough with his overgrown beard and his problem fitting into his suit.

Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
