Marvel Fans Clamoring for Jack Black as Wolverine

It might be difficult to imagine anyone else aside from Hugh Jackman taking on the Wolverine role for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, it seems like some Marvel fans support the idea that Jack Black would be a good James Hewlett contender.

A few days ago, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star Jack Black decided to share a photo of himself giving a Wolverine pose right next to a Red Hulk statue. Marvel fans seemed to appreciate Black's look, because some decided to edit the actor's photo so that he looks just like Logan.

The ferocity of the pose and the wild quarantine hair certainly adds to the idea that Black would make a great version of Logan for the MCU. Black certainly looks the part.

Of course, Black isn't the only actor that fans are hoping to see as the new Wolverine. Another major contender is Kingsman actor Taron Egerton, a Welsh actor and singer who's received Golden Globe Awards and nominations for the British Academy Film Awards.

Last year, Egerton was a fan-favorite choice for the Wolverine role. At one point, there were even rumors that the actor had already nabbed the role. Unfortunately, last fall, the actor revealed that the reports were nothing but hokum.

"It's unfounded," the Egerton said in an interview with Yahoo Movies. "The only morsel of truth to it is that I'm a huge fan of the films, like 99.9 percent of the rest of the world. That's kind of it, really. … I don't quite know where it comes from. I'm flattered but baffled by it... There's other characters that I think I'd be more suited to."
