Marvel Fans Campaign Against Black Widow’s Release on Disney+ like Mulan

Earlier this week, Disney stunned fans when it announced during an earnings call that it would be releasing the live-action adaptation of Mulan on Disney+ instead of primarily sending it to cinemas. Not only that, but each Disney+ subscriber has to pay $29.99 to obtain access to the film.

As much as Disney fans are celebrating the official release of Mulan, Marvel fans are hoping that the same thing won't be done to Black Widow. There's been a lot of debate on the issue the past few days on social media.

While some Marvel fans are eager to see Scarlett Johansson reprise her role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Natasha Roanoff in an early release of Black Widow, other fans aren't too keen on the idea of the film getting released on Disney+ like Mulan.

Though releasing Black Widow on Disney+ offers Marvel fans a whole range of opportunities not available to them when they're watching the film on the big screen, a lot of Marvel fans think that Black Widow deserves much better than a $29.99 online screening.

A number of Marvel fans believe that Black Widow deserves a traditional theatrical release, one that will allow movie-goers to enjoy the screen size and sound quality that only a cinema can offer.

Of course, the campaign for Marvel to have Black Widow release normally has its dissenters. There are also Marvel fans hoping to see Black Widow release as early as it can, no matter what.

Disney has not specified the release style of Black Widow just yet, but the studio will probably make a few revelations once the film officially premieres on Disney+ on November 6, 2020.
