While most of the film's reviews are decidedly negative, fans have a few positive takes on the movie here and there.

During its theatrical release, Dark Phoenix was a poorly received film that suffered from overwhelmingly negative reviews from both fans and critics. The movie didn't do well at the box office either, managing to make only $252.4 million against a reported production budget that went up to $200 million.

Many lamented the film's poor results. Being the final entry in the X-Men franchise before Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, there was considerable hype surrounding the film before its release. It was disappointing to see the film fail both in a critical and commercial aspect.
