Marvel Fans Are Going Crazy Over Taika Waititi And Thor 4

Marvel fans weren't really expecting any major announcement to come before Marvel Studios headed down to this year's San Diego Comic-Con International. However, major news somehow managed to make its way online with word leaking out that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waitit had been officially tapped for the fourth Thor installment.

Now, fans are going crazy online, celebrating Waititi's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All this talk about Waititi and Thor 4 has somehow made it to the top of Twitter's global trends, with fans posting all sort of celebratory memes and GIFS.

Of course, the hype surrounding Waititi's return barely comes as a surprise. The indie darling who had been known for charming and whimsical independent movies like What We Do In the Shadows and The Hunt for the Wilderpeople brought in a breath of fresh air to the MCU with Ragnarok.

The third Thor film was celebrated by fans and critics alike with many praising the film for the excitement and the color that it brought to the franchise. Many believed Ragnarok to be one of the very best, setting a new standard for the Thor film series and for the rest of the MCU.

Now, fans are excited to see where Waititi's going to take Chris Hemsworth's Asgardian God of Thunder. Thor's been through a lot in the past few films, especially in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It would be nice to see Odinson in a lighthearted space romp somewhere before he joins the Guardians in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
