Marvel Fans Are Already Blaming Thanos For Luke Cage, Iron Fist Cancellation

The world is still reeling from the unexpected cancellation of Luke Cage just a week after Iron Fist got the cut. However, Marvel fans are already blaming Thanos and his deadly snap in Avengers: Infinity War.

We already know that the Mad Titan's actions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick actually got rid of half of the universe. It didn't take long before fans began connecting the Luke Cage and Iron Fist cancellation to what happened in Infinity War.

Although it's easy to blame Thanos for what happened to the two Marvel shows, the reason behind the Luke Cage cancellation is a little more complicated than that. According to Deadline, the series got the cut due to "creative differences and the inability for the parties involved to reach a deal on how to move forward."

The official statement from Marvel and Netflix regarding Luke Cage reads as follows:

"Unfortunately, Marvel's Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem's Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series."

Prior to the announcement, Marvel and Netflix had canceled Iron Fist. Nevertheless, hopeful fans are wondering if this could mean that Finn Jones and Mike Colter will appear in a spin-off series Heroes for Hire featuring their comic book characters. Unfortunately, the streaming giant has yet to make an official announcement about the possible new show.
