Marvel Fan ‘Perfects’ Avengers: Endgame By Taking Out Captain Marvel

Brie Larson's Captain Marvel might be one of newest additions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but as it turns out, not everyone's a big fan of Carol Danvers and her photon powers.

Trying to perfect Avengers: Endgame, a Marvel fan decided to make a few tweaks to the film. That included taking out Captain Marvel, a hero many feel to be overpowering and unnecessary. Sure, some might have loved what Carol Danvers represented, but others felt like the hero didn't necessarily help further the story and that she was used for deus ex machina purposes like when the film needed someone to help save Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) from certain death.

While the aforementioned might have been understandable reasons for taking out Carol Danvers, this Marvel fan decided to remove the character because of its PC aspect. The fan-edited version of Endgame also takes out other politically correct social justice warrior elements from the film, including the support group which has Joe Russo playing as an extra who reveals he went on a date with a man.

Here's a list of all the other changes made in the fan edit:

  • No Hawkeye training his daughter
  • No women leader conference, no gay support group talk
  • Moping/Dialogue/Filler in first act severely reduced
  • Any science babble that isn't necessary to understand the story is gone. Nothing takes you out of a movie quite like pseudo-science.
  • Tony doesn't ask his wife's permission to save the universe.
  • Female sorceress gets scared of Hulk and just gives him the stone.
  • Tony doesn't meet his Dad, Thor doesn't meet his Mom, it's pointless.
  • Sadly [Thor is] unsalvageable in general, but I did the best to make him more dignified.
  • Black Panther isn't the first revived Avenger to arrive and gets a bit less time, he's really not that important.
  • Women in final battle severely reduced. In particular, Pepper has no business being there.
  • In general, whenever it felt like Marvel sniffing its own farts, that part is probably gone.

Looking at the list, these fan edits seem a whole lot misogynistic though. Fan edits like these have also been done to other popular blockbuster movies like Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
