Marvel Actually had Thor and Jane Reunite in Avengers: Endgame

Marvel fans might be anticipating the reunion between Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) in Thor: Love and Thunder, but little do they know the former lovers were supposed to meet in Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel just recently released Avengers: Endgame – The Art of the Movie, a brand new book that gives fans an inside look at the creative process that went behind the biggest Marvel movie of the year. One of the big reveals in the Endgame art book is the reunion between Jane Foster and Marvel's Asgardian God of Thunder (via ComicBook.com).

In the concept art featured in the art book, fans get to see Bro Thor finding himself face-to-face with Jane during the trip to the past to retrieve the Infinity Stones. It's supposed to be a heavy and emotional sequence, but the concept art also includes Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper) in the background, ready to whack Jane Foster out of her senses if he needs to.

It's such a shame that the sequence never really made it into Endgame. It would have been interesting to see Jane react to a heavier Thor and a wise-cracking raccoon. We can only wonder whether Rocket will have the same opportunity at attempting to whack Jane in Thor: Love and Thunder (or if the Guardian of the Galaxy will be in the movie at all).

Let's just wait and see what Thor and Jane's actual reunion will be like in the next Taika Waititi Marvel movie.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release on November 5, 2021.
