The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is finally out and it's being lauded by the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom for its heart and humor. Serving as one of James Gunn's final Marvel ventures before shifting his focus to the DC Universe, the latest installment in the GOTG saga may not have serious implications for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but it's the perfect break from what has been an emotionally-driven and quite frankly stressful Phase 4.

Apart from the lighthearted moments it delivered, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is generating buzz on social media thanks to what many believe to be Mark Hamill's official debut to the billion-dollar franchise. In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it sequence, an unknown Ravager can be seen chugging down on a bottle of liquor on Knowhere and his resemblance to the Star Wars legend is uncanny.

While Gunn and Hamill have yet to officially confirm whether it was actually the Luke Skywalker actor, Mark's son Nathan took to Twitter and immediately dismissed his dad's rumored involvement in the project. Of course, we're not quite sure if he's actually telling the truth or not but I guess I'll leave that one up to you.

Hamill has long been on the fans' radar when it comes to potential MCU castings and it's quite baffling how Marvel Studios seemingly never considered him for a role in the billion-dollar franchise. Of course, it isn't too late to bring him to Earth-616, especially now that his Star Wars colleague Harrison Ford is set to play Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: New World Order.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is now streaming on Disney+.
