Mark Hamill Teases The Title For Star Wars: Episode IX

Lucasfilm

Mark Hamill might be the noble Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars' franchise's galaxy far, far away, but he's also a huge, loveable troll, making fun of the fanbase every chance he gets.

Last year, before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Star Wars legend decided to ride on the fan theory that Luke would turn to the Dark Side in the film based on the character's placement in the movie's official poster. He also had fans believing that Luke was Finn's father with his posts on Twitter.

Now, with the production of Star Wars: Episode IX on the run, the Star Wars legend has decided to pull everyone's leg again, this time teasing the title of the third sequel trilogy installment.

Taking to Twitter today, Hamill decided to tweet out the phrase "The....to be continued," an obvious reference to the official title of The Last Jedi sequel.

Check out the word down here:

While some might argue that the post could refer to something entirely else, the titles of the past two sequel trilogy films have all begun with the word "The." There's been The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. If Lucasfilm were to follow the pattern, then the title of Episode IX would most likely begin with a "The" too. The only question now is whether we're going to get the rest of the title soon.

Let's just wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
