Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have grown increasingly upset over the lack of updates regarding the franchise's Fantastic Four reboot. Despite being confirmed to be in development since late 2020, key details surrounding the project have remained scarce.

That hasn't stopped the rumor mill from spinning, however, and over the last couple of months, several reports have popped up all over the internet making claims about the MCU's iteration of the First Family.

So far, names like Adam Driver, Paul Mescal, Daveed Diggs, and Margot Robbie have been reported as the studio's final casting line-up for Fantastic Four. However, a new rumor seems to suggest that one of them didn't actually make the cut.

Taking to Twitter, reputable scooper Grace Randolph recently reported that the star of DC's The Suicide Squad isn't playing Sue Storm in the anticipated reboot.

According to her, Mission Impossible star Vanessa Kirby might have already secured the role, adding that she has always been director Matt Shakman's original choice to play the part.

This isn't the first time Kirby's name was speculated to be part of the cast. In fact, even before the rumors of Robbie being a top candidate for the Sue Storm role emerged, the English star was already part of the alleged list of actors being considered by the studio.

Turns out, Kirby is well aware of the rumor mill. Just recently, the actress responded to the idea of her potentially heading to the MCU and while she didn't give a definitive answer, she told ComicBook: "It would be an honor."

As it stands, Marvel Studios remains unfazed despite all the casting reports that have been spreading like wildfire all over the web. The good news is, we're only a month away from San Diego Comic-Con where a bunch of MCU announcements are expected to be revealed.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is now slated for theatrical release on May 2, 2025.
