Maisie Williams was ‘Not in a Good Place’ When They Shot Game of Thrones 8

It's finally happening. After a year of delay, HBO is finally going to drop the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones this April. Maisie Williams will be returning as Arya Stark, and she explains that she had to channel a lot of bad emotions when shooting the finale.

Talking at the University of St. Andrews (via Birmingham Live), Williams explained:

"The final season, as an actor you try to call on your emotional memories and it meant that for the final season I was really not in a good place and I didn't want to get better because I didn't want to not be able to tap into those emotions."

Ever since the show wrapped though, Williams has said that she'd been taking a time out. She was actually in the University giving a talk about this social networking app she was developing for young artists called Daisie.

Going back to Thrones though, Williams isn't the only one to express her stress on the set. Jon Snow actor Kit Harington had said that working on the final season was ‘f*cking tiring' and a lot of the setpieces were ‘designed to break' the actors.

We don't really know what he means by that, but I imagine that there's going to be one huge battle scene that will be more stressful than the Battle of the Bastards. Maybe Arya will have something to do with it, but I never expected someone like her on the field. If you ask me, Arya's skills are best used for sneaking around.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see when Game of Thrones 8 premieres on HBO April 14.
