Magic: The Gathering Arena Reveals More Details About Amonkhet Remastered & Pioneer Masters


Magic: The Gathering Arena is getting a new game update tomorrow, July 16, and today Wizards of the Coast has detailed new events, the new Jumpstart set, the Historic Arena Open, and what they have planned for the free-to-play digital card game in the July 2020 State of the Game announcement, including Amonhket Remastered and Pioneer Masters.

Here's the roadmap for the new content and features coming to MTG Arena in 2020:

Amonkhet Remasters - August 13, 2020

Described as a "combined re-release", Amonkhet Remastered will feature cards from Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation, but "with updated gameplay to make this a fun and fresh experience for all of our players".

Amonkhet Remastered has a combined card count at around 340 cards, with a focus on the Limited play experience (Draft and Sealed), Pioneer, and continued support for Historic. It will launch on MTG Arena on August 13, but expect Wizards to reveal more about it on August 6.

Pioneer Remasters - Q4

Wizards also confirmed that Pioneer Masters is a Pioneer-focused set remaster, and just like the Modern Masters tabletop product, this digital card set will feature cards from Pioneer-legal sets for Limited and Constructed play. Pioneer Masters is expected to launch on MTG Arena by the end of 2020.

The cardpool for MTG Arena's eternal Constructed format Historic is expanding this year with the release of Jumpstart,Historic Anthologies, Amonkhet Remastered, and Pioneer Masters.
