In the upcoming Magic: The Gathering 2020 Mythic Invitational, the top MTG Arena players will battle alongside the Magic Pro League (MPL) and Rivals League for $250,000 in prizes and invitation to the Season Finals, but like many esports events in this difficult year, the 2020 Mythic Invitational will be pushed back to a later date.

Wizards of the Coast has announced that the 2020 Mythic Invitational has been rescheduled for two weeks later and now will take place September 10-13.

"We recognize that players and fans have high expectations for our premier events, and this additional adjustment is another challenge in an already difficult year, " Wizards explained. "However, with additional time, including for the introduction of Amonkhet Remastered to Historic on MTG Arena in August, moving the Mythic Invitational to a later date will help ensure we can run the best possible event."

WotC also said that they are revealing their vision and plan for a 2020-2021 Magic Esports season disrupted by COVID-19 today. They will reveal the structure for the MPL and Rivals League as well the next season of events.
