The sudden cancellation of Luke Cage has shocked everyone, with most fans wondering why a show with great critical reception would get cut. Netflix doesn't release statistics so we aren't sure if this is a view or ratings-based decision but it seems like we won't be seeing Luke Cage for a while, outside of a Jessica Jones cameo.
What makes this decision even more infuriating is the fact the second season ended with a huge cliffhanger. Rather than clean up the streets as he wanted, Luke Cage ended up becoming a crime lord with Misty Knight now wanting to take him down. Iron Fist season two brought this up as well since Knight will be teaming with Colleen Wing to defeat Cage.
No one is more frustrated than actor Mike Colter, who pointed out how Cage has a fancy suit and nowhere else to go. While the actor did share some positive vibes since his daughter was just brought to the world, it's easy to see why Colter is frustrated. This would have been a really fun aspect to explore since Cage never turned heel during his comic book life.
Reports claim that creative differences are why Luke Cage was canceled but that makes fans wonder why they decided to end with a cliffhanger. Then again, Daredevil also left room for more story and now fans are praying that this series doesn't get canceled. We'll have to wait and see.
