Lucifer Season 6 Blu-ray/DVD is now out, and while promoting the home release, showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich talked about the possibility of having a Lucifer revival. So, will fans see Lucifer and the gang back on the small screen again?
Lucifer ended its six-season run last year. After a year without the King of Hell on TV, will they bless or curse the viewers again with his return?
A Possible Lucifer Revival
The sixth season gave a definitive ending for all of the series' characters. Despite that, both Henderson and Modrovich remain open about the possibility of reviving the series.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Henderson even revealed that he hopes to bring the series back to life again, especially because he loved making the show and working with its cast members.
"I think hopefully at some point, we can find a way to come back, or at least revisit or do something," he added. "It was such a great time, it's such a great experience, and we love these people, so never say never."
But if Modrovich will have her way, she would love to see Lucifer The Musical on Broadway.
"If anybody wants to hashtag that, get that going," she stated.
However, Henderson suggested doing Lucifer The Animated Series instead.
Will There be Lucifer The Animated Series?
For starters, an animated version of Lucifer was already seen in the sixth season's third episode, titled Yabba Dabba Do Me. Parts of the story were done in animation, featuring Chloe (Lauren German) and Lucifer entering Barnes' Hell loop.

The animators behind HBO Max's Harley Quinn worked on that episode.
As a live-action revival may be hard to pull off, an animated version may be easier, as the original cast only has to lend their voices for the show.
A Possible Lucifer Spinoff
Meanwhile, besides a revival, Henderson also talked about the possibility of having a Lucifer spinoff in an interview with TVLine.
He admitted there were talks about spinoffs.
"I mean, honestly, especially early on, yes — and then one of the big things we focused on making sure we told as much story with all of our characters, knowing this was our one shot, as possible, and then finishing the season and then discussing any spinoffs after," he explained.
He also revealed that the talks got stronger when they made Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) a bounty hunter and started to "fantasy-created" a new show in their heads.
"There was a bunch of times, especially Seasons 2, 3, and 4 when we saw all of the potential of these characters," he continued. "Then we sort of refocused on, 'How do we make sure that we tell every story we can with them with the time we have?' And then if we are ever lucky to have future spinoffs, we will have to be clever enough to find a new story."
