Lucasfilm Ramps Up Andor’s Emmy Campaign By Releasing Scripts Online

Andor is getting ready for its Emmy campaign and Lucasfilm did not waste a second of ramping up the Star Wars series.

Apart from its highly acclaimed reviews and praises from critics and fans alike, a website dedicated to the Star Wars series would do wonders for its campaign.

As reported by io9, the news outlet confirmed with Disney that Andor creator, showrunner, and screenwriter Tony Gilroy is launching a website dedicated to release free copies of the scripts for all 12 episodes of his show.

Andor is one of the most groundbreaking Star Wars series to exist within the franchise, especially because of how its mature themes and darker tone made the Disney+ series stand out than most.

Before Andor Season 2 comes out, Lucasfilm and Gilroy are also releasing plenty of behind-the-scenes content on the website.

Luckily, we'll be seeing what else Andor initially had in store for Star Wars fans!

Amid the WGA strike, it is also worth noting that Andor Season 2 has been confirmed to have been finished before the writers’ strike happened.

Gilroy himself previously noted how they managed to complete the Season 2 scripts ahead of time: “Not because of the strike, but because our thing rhymed with the strike, I finished the last script of the twenty-four.”

Gilroy added, “We started three and a half years ago. It’ll be five years by the time we’re done to finish.”

With the start of the WGA strike, this is good news for Andor Season 2, considering they won’t have any trouble following the story building up to Rogue One.

However, it remains to be seen how Lucasfilm will address its rewrites, should the show find trouble with any particular scene or episode Gilroy penned.

Andor Season 2 is still under development and has no official release date yet, but is expected to release in August 2024 on Disney+.
