Lucasfilm Announces Star Wars: The Mandalorian Debut And Cast

It looks like the cast of Star Wars: The Mandalorian is coming along nicely. Not only does Jon Favreau's Star Wars series have Game of Thrones and Wonder Woman 1984's Pedro Pascal to play the lead character in The Mandalorian, but it looks like the series has added a couple of other new faces to the franchise.

Lucasfilm has finally made an official post announcing the debut of its first live-action Star Wars series on Disney+ streaming platform next year and along with the post comes the full cast for the series. Not only has Pascal has been confirmed as the lead star of the series but other actors and actresses like Gina Carano from Deadpool, Nick Nolte from 48 Hours, and Werner Herzog from Grizzly Man have all been announced.

A couple of new names have been found on the announcement as well. Breaking Bad's very own Giancarlo Esposito has been tapped for the show, as well Supernatural's Emily Swallow and American God's Omid Abtahi.

While it seems like these stars have been rounded up as series regulars for The Mandalorian, there's still very little known about their roles on the show, though we're hoping that Lucasfilm gives a few more details in the months to come.

"We're having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we're up to," Favreau shared in a statement posted on StarWars.com.

What we do know however is that The Mandalorian will follow the adventures of a lone warrior, all of which are to be set after the fall of the Empire and right before the rise of the First Order in the outer reaches of the galaxy.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is expected to launch sometime in 2020.
