He has been a werewolf but now it looks like Tyler Posey is getting ready to become a vampire. The former Teen Wolf star has just been cast in a lead role in The CW's upcoming The Lost Boys reboot.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Posey will play Michael, a boy with a genetic weakness who gets seduced into the underworld of vampires in the sunny town of Santa Carla. The role was originally played by Jason Patric in the 1987 film.

In addition to Posey, the Lost Boys pilot has already found a director as well as key cast members. Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke will helm the pilot while Medalion Rahimi will portray Stella, a Santa Carla local who happens to have a vampire boyfriend who will be played by Dakota Shapiro. Lost actress Kiele Sanchez has been cast as Michael's mother Lucy. The pilot has yet to find an actor to play Michael's younger brother Sam, who was originally portrayed by the late Corey Haim.

The Lost Boys pilot will be written by Heather Mitchell, who will also serve as executive producer alongside Rob Thomas, Bill Bindley, Dan Etheridge, and Mike Karz.

There have been speculations that the Frog Brothers will also appear in the pilot. However, the characters are set for a major change. It is still unclear if The CW is planning to gender-swap the characters. Nevertheless, most fans and even Corey Feldman are opposed to the possibility of the Frog Sisters.

The Lost Boys pilot has not yet been given an official premiere date. Nevertheless, the show is expected to air on The CW in late 2019 or early 2020.
