We're still in the dark when it comes to the highly anticipated The Lord of the Rings TV series. However, it looks like the new show will focus on the Elven rulers of Middle Earth. A new map from the series has been unveiled and it's certainly confirming that we're getting a prequel.
The map was shared by the official The Lord of the Rings Twitter account. Not surprisingly, the image came with an interesting caption. Take a look at the tweet below.
"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky," the caption reads. It's important to note that that actually ends with a comma, suggesting that we'll be getting a new map soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
The mere mention of the rings and the Elves immediately had fans wondering if the Keepers of the Rings will be the main focus of the series. This could mean we will be seeing the return of Galadriel, who has been the sole keeper of the ring Nenya. It's also possible that Elrond will show up although he was only the secondary keeper of ring Vilya. Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that Legolas will be a part of the show.
In the meantime, there is a lot to unpack from the map itself. People are claiming that the map confirms that the LOTR series will take place during the second or third age and the compass also pays tribute to the Dwarves. Needless to say, we can't wait for more updates soon.
There were speculations that the Lord of the Rings series will focus on a young Aragorn. However, there's still a possibility that the show will feature characters who are much older than Aragorn. Here's hoping that the truth will be revealed in the near future.
