There is little doubt that the latest episode of Loki was heartbreaking for fans who have been hoping that Mobius would get through the Marvel Cinematic Universe series without a scratch. But what was going through the TVA agent's mind when he discovered he had been betrayed by Judge Renslayer? Owen Wilson breaks down how his character felt upon learning the truth.
In Loki Episode 4, Mobius managed to find Loki and Sylvie when their bond caused a "nexus event" on Lamentis. Loki immediately told Mobius the truth about TVA, that the agents are actually Variants and were not created by the Time-Keepers.
It's a shocking discovery for Mobius who has been loyal to the TVA all this time. However, Renslayer's betrayal wasn't exactly a huge surprise for Wilson after everything that has been happening at the TVA.
"The betrayal of Mobius by Renslayer is pretty shocking," Wilson told Marvel.com. "And it's a little bit of a hall of mirrors within the whole series, that people aren't quite who they seem to be."
Wilson then pointed out that Mobius' thoughts were similar to what was going through Loki's head when he was captured by the organization.
"In the same way that Loki, when he lands in this bizarre place called the TVA, Mobius will have sort of the same struggles. What is this organization? And is it something that is worthy of his devotion?" he said.
We're certainly hoping that Mobius will survive despite being pruned in Loki Episode 4. After all, it was suggested in the mid-credits scene that people who are pruned end up in another dimension. Hopefully, we'll see him again next week.
