Loki Series to Start Production Early 2020

Loki may officially be dead in the MCU, but an alternate version of him lives on, and we get to follow this Loki's journey in a Disney+ miniseries. We don't really have any details on the whole plot of the series, but Tom Hiddleston does hint at the beginning of production.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Hiddleston confirms, "Loki will start at the top of next year. He's such a classical character. [Thor and Loki], they're from Norse myths — they have a kind of gravitas to them." It's also worth noting that this interview is to promote Hiddleston's upcoming stint on Broadway in a revival of Harold Pinter's Betrayal.

It also goes without mentioning that Hiddleston will be joined by Daredevil star Charlie Cox and Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw) in the play.

For now, the only hint we have is that Loki is going to be a time-traveling series with Loki popping up during random times on Earth, changing the course of history. With Loki basically possessing the Space Stone in Avengers: Endgame, he's now free to travel wherever he pleases. I guess he can use it to time travel? But maybe there's going to be some hint of Doctor Strange in there somewhere.

All we can really do now is to wait for Marvel Studios to give us more news. Good thing is, they're set to have their own panel at the D23 Expo this month, and hopefully we get coverage on more Marvel projects that we didn't really get to delve into back during SDCC 2019.

Catch Loki when it comes to Disney+ on the spring of 2021.
