This coming fall, the beloved MCU series Loki will return with a highly-anticipated second season that continues the God of Mischief's multiversal adventure following the shocking cliffhanger of the first season finale.

While most of the plot details are being kept under wraps at the moment, the trailer suggested that it will be more epic than the first season due to the larger scope that they're exploring as the multiverse is in danger of collapsing.

We also know as teased by the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that we are going to meet more Kang the Conqueror variants such as Victor Timely.

Now, a new report has revealed more details about the other Kang variant that we will meet in the upcoming season and it's a very familiar face that we've seen before.

According to a recent report from The Cosmic Circus, the second season of Loki will feature the return of the benevolent He Who Remains, who we last saw in the first season finale. Jonathan Majors is donning the robe once again for the role.

He will show up in scenes that are taking place at the Citadel at the End of Time and the Void and his appearance will feel like a “full circle” moment for the story that was told in the first season.

The report also noted that his scenes won't be repurposed from his previous appearances and they are all new scenes that he shot as the character aside from Victor Timely.

Given that the character died during the first season finale, it really makes sense that his appearance in the new season will be through flashbacks and explain his significance to the multiverse storyline as well as his connections to the other variants.

This is an interesting detail about the new season since it looks like they are going to double down on the existence of the various Kang variants and their roles in the collapse of the multiverse.

It would be curious to see if we will be seeing more variants of Kang aside from the two and how it could also possibly set up the upcoming multiversal events such as in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

The second season of Loki will premiere on Disney+ this October 6. You can check more details about it here.
