Loki Might Still Be Alive After Avengers: Endgame Scene, Says Anthony Russo [SPOILERS]

If you were one of the fans who mourned for Loki when he was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, you might find some reason to rejoice. Anthony Russo has just hinted at the possibility that Loki is alive and well and probably having the time of his life after the events in Avengers: Endgame.

WARNING: Endgame spoilers ahead! Proceed with caution!

In Endgame, people were delighted to see Loki show up in two different timelines. He was there when Thor and Rocket Raccoon decided to go to Asgard to take the Aether from Jane Foster. The God of Mischief also showed up when Iron Man and Ant-Man tried to take the Tesseract from SHIELD after the Battle of New York.

Everything was going as planned until Tony Stark and Thor were intercepted by Alexander Pierce. Although Scott Lang managed to cause a diversion, it led to Loki taking hold of the Space Stone and escaping.

If that particular scene gave you hope, Russo might actually confirm it. The Endgame co-director told The Los Angeles Times that Loki may have survived because of the Tesseract.

"Loki could absolutely still be alive in an alternate timeline," Russo said.

It's still unclear what would have happened to Loki after he managed to get away from his captors. Some believe it could be the entire premise of the Loki series that will air on Disney+ while others think it means the God of Mischief could reunite with brother Thor in another Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. Either way, fans are loving the idea that Loki is not completely lost just yet.

Avengers: Endgame is still screening in theaters worldwide.
