Logan's Back With New Powers in September's The Return of Wolverine

It looks like that search didn't lead to a dead end after all, as Marvel has announced The Return of Wolverine #1 for September. Fans have been curious about the character's return since his mysterious appearance in Marvel Legacy #1 and after months of comics relating to his comeback, we're getting a five-issue mini-series that will hopefully tell us how he came back to life.

The Return of Wolverine #1 will have the creative team of Charles Soule and Steve McNiven, the same team that killed Logan in the first place, so it's only fitting that they bring him back. Marvel has stated that this the third part of a trilogy that started with Death of Wolverine, continued with Hunt for Wolverine, and finally concludes with Return.

Writer Charles Soule is making sure that this isn't a typical resurrection, promising something interesting; a new power. Soule has confirmed that Logan's claws will now heat up from time to time, making the X-Man even more dangerous than he already is.

Obviously, we're going to get a Wolverine ongoing in the near future, but we will have to wait for this mini-series to end. Marvel is also in the process of writing out Old Man Logan, whose healing factor is failing, so fans will only have one Wolverine to enjoy. As for Laura Kinley, she's going back to her X-23 identity.

The Return of Wolverine #1 comes out on September 19.
