Local Cable Channel in the Philippines Broadcasted Pirated Copy of Avengers: Endgame

While the marketing campaign for Avengers: Endgame was extensive, you could probably say the same thing for the campaign asking fans not to spoil the movie online. While a lot of people were polite enough to keep their traps shut after watching the film, a local cable channel in the Philippines went out and leaked the whole movie.

According to VICE, a local cable provider by the name of Orient Cable in Zamboanga, Philippines had illegally broadcast a pirated version of Avengers: Endgame on their channel the day after the premiere. Orient Cable is currently being sued by a local movie house and has since taken the video down to replace with another pirated movie featuring a Philippine superhero called Captain Barbell.

Orient Cable declined to issue a statement when approached by reporters, but I won't be surprised if Disney or Marvel themselves comes knocking on their door.

Being one of the biggest movies of the decade, it's no mystery that Avengers: Endgame will be pirated as early as now. Someone has even had the gall to upload the entire pirated copy on Facebook. I guess even with the leaks, the film won't have any trouble earning money. The film had made history being the first movie to earn a billion in its opening weekend, and it's sure to earn way more as its theatrical run pushes along.
