Lindsay Lohan Still Hoping To Play Disney’s Live-Action Little Mermaid

Knowing how Disney's been focusing on rebooting its classic animated movies, it isn't impossible to expect the Mickey Mouse House making a live-action version of The Little Mermaid. Lindsay Lohan's already voiced her interest in playing everyone's favorite half-human, half-fish and it looks like she hasn't given up yet.

Speaking in an interview with Variety, Lohan decided to talk about being a huge fan of The Little Mermaid and how she plans to "harass" her agent to no ends so she gets the part once Disney starts working on the live-action remake.

"The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie since I was a kid," the mean girls actress said. "Whenever I put that move on, it makes me happy. I'm like, 'Everybody, stop. Watch this movie.'"

Lohan made it very clear in a post made on Instagram back in February 2017 that she would want to become the Mickey Mouse House's live-action version of Ariel in a reboot of The Little Mermaid. Now, after two years, it seems like the Freaky Friday star is still pretty interested in the role.

The publication then asked Lohan whether Disney's already approached her about their plans for an upcoming live-action reboot of The Little Mermaid. While the company still hasn't reached out to the star, Lohan doesn't plan on quitting yet.

"No, but I'm going to harass my agent about it after this," she said.

Of course, it's going to be a tough fight for Lohan. The actress has had a number of issues. The actress who started off as a child star in Parent Trap became infamous for having "one of the biggest crashes in Hollywood History" and since then she's tried to redeem herself.

There have also been a lot of actresses who've expressed interest in The Little Mermaid. There were reports that Spider-Man: Homecoming star Zendaya was being considered for the part, and Audra McDonald has also said that she'd like to be part of the project.
