There's no denying that the upcoming Black Panther sequel Wakanda Forever will mark another changing of the guard in the MCU. Not only that, but it will also serve as Marvel Studios' grand farewell to the late Chadwick Boseman who died in 2020 after his silent battle with colon cancer.
While everyone working on the sequel had nothing but good things to say about the project ahead of its release this November, actress Letitia Wright admitted that Chadwick's absence was one of the difficult parts of filming Black Panther 2.
In an interview with Variety at the Kering Women in Motion dinner at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, the Shuri actress addressed the struggles they faced while filming Wakanda Forever.
Wright said that Wakanda Forever will be "an incredible honor for Chadwick Boseman" adding: "It's jam-packed with exciting stuff. November, it couldn't come sooner so I'm excited for you guys to see it."
She continued: "We honored him by committing ourselves to the story that he started, the legacy he started with this franchise, and We committed every day to working hard, no matter what circumstances we faced. And we faced a lot of circumstances. A lot of difficult situations, but we came together as a team. We poured everything into this movie."

Rumor has it that Letitia is the frontrunner to become Chadwick's successor in the Black Panther franchise and it would be safe to assume that we'll see her suit up in the film. Personally speaking, while I would prefer to see someone else take over the mantle, Shuri continuing the legacy of her fallen brother makes the most sense.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated for release on November 11, 2022.
