Leslie Jones Angered at the Ghostbusters Reboot

Sony made headlines last week when they announced that they would be scrapping the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot to make a third film set in the original universe. A lot of fans rejoiced, but you know who wasn't happy? Leslie Jones.

Jones, who was a member of the main cast of the 2016 reboot, posted on Twitter:

While I can understand why Jones would be pissed, her rant does come from a very uninformed place. It's been said that the upcoming reboot is said to focus on a team of two boys and two girls, so her jab about "better with men" doesn't apply.

Plus, it also goes without saying that the 2016 Ghostbusters was a terrible film, and it had nothing to do with the main cast being all women. I walked into the theater with a very open mind, hoping that all the haters would be wrong, but this movie just made me eat my words.

Screen Junkies describes it best with their Honest Trailer of the film:

Even though the movie was terrible, I have to say that the actresses in the film did try their best, given the material they had to work with. Including Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon gave it their all. Such a shame the film was a wreck when it came to everything else.

Except the intro scene with Zach Woods. That was gold.

Ghostbusters 3 is expected to come out the summer of 2020.
