The comic book artist illustrated a number of high-profile comic books, including Crisis on Infinite Earths, New Teen Titans, and so much more. He hasn't been active in mainstream comics for a long time, though he did provide stellar interior art for the awesome JLA vs Avengers mini-series.

On Facebook. Perez broke a lot of hearts by announcing that he would be effectively retiring from comic books. Perez claims that he will be stopping due to health issues, especially towards his eyes, which received numerous treatments over the years. Perez claims that he will still make convention appearances and make art there, though the proceeds he will be receiving will go to charity, proving that Perez is a great guy. It's nice to know that a stellar comic book artist is also a genuinely good person.

While it's sad to see him go, we still have the numerous comics and graphic novels he worked on over the years. It's not false to claim that Perez has worked on some of the most well-known comic books ever made, including Avengers, Wonder Woman, and Justice League of America.
